Radio frequency (RF) therapy, also called radio frequency skin tightening, is a non-surgical method of tightening your skin. The procedure involves using energy waves to heat the deep layer of your skin known as your dermis. This heat stimulates the production of collagen. Collagen is what keeps our skin from sagging, giving us that plump, youthful look.
How Does it Work?
The handheld device with tiny sterile needles is gently moved across the treatment area, creating controlled micro-injuries – we adjust the depth of the needles dependant on the area being treated. At the same time, radiofrequency energy is delivered through the needles, heating the deeper layers of the skin without damaging the surface.
Treatment
During the procedure, a numbing cream may be applied to minimize any discomfort, but we will carry out a patch test initially to demonstrate the machine, this is typically on your arm. This will show you the discomfort you can expect during the treatment.
The combination of micro-injury and heat triggers the body's natural healing response, leading to increased collagen and elastin production. Overtime and with multiple sessions, RF micro needling can result in improved skin texture, reduced fine lines and wrinkles, minimized acne scars, and a more youthful appearance.
How many treatments are required?
The number of sessions required can vary depending on individual needs and goals, but typically a series of six treatments spaced several weeks apart is recommended for optimal results. Results can then be maintained with twice yearly sessions.
With your treatment we offer the opportunity to add serums into your package which give an added boost of hyaluronic acid hydrating your skin from the inside. If you are having a facial treatment, there is a further option to add skin boosters.
We offer Seventy Hyal which can be carried out at the same time as your microneedling or Profhilo which can be administered 2 weeks after your microneedling session.

What's the difference between Microneedling and RF Microneedling?
With traditional needling, all the work is being done on the epidermis (outer layer of the skin) which causes a lot of bleeding and can be very uncomfortable.
With RF microneedling, we can go much deeper with much less pain and target the dermis, or middle layer of the skin.
This dermis is where our collagen and elastin is reproduced, which in turn generates phenomenal anti-ageing results, from anti-wrinkle treatments to skin tightening and pigment reduction.
